Create A Valentine's Day Candy Tray With Me!

Who doesn't love a candy or chocolate tray, especially on the one day of the year when it is almost criminal not to indulge in some form of chocolate related sweet treat with lashings of squirty cream. Maybe you're looking for something fun to do with the kids or even a little project for the 2 love birds to do together? Perhaps you're not even romantically attached and are choosing instead to celebrate Galentine's Day this year in place of Valentine's Day and are looking for something to do that is trending on social media for this time of year? How about a Valentine's Day candy tray? A Valentine's Day candy tray can be a fabulous addition to your goodie drawer. Click the link below to see how I made mine.

What do you need to create your own Valentine's Day candy tray?

You need a tray that divides into the number of sections you wish to fill. I wanted 8 sections so I chose the mDesign storage box with hinged lid which I thought fitted our needs for both practicality and budget as they come in a pack of 4.

You will also need a selection of bite-sized chocolates and sweets to fill each of the compartments. I chose to stay with the Valentine's Day colour theme of pink, red and white wherever possible as well as the obligatory Valentine's Day shapes, hearts and kisses! Some of the chocolates and sweets have been linked on my Amazon storefront under the "Valentine's Day" section

You will also need some small spoons for dishing up little portions of your treats. I personally love these little black spoons for measuring out coffee as they are the perfect size for the container and hold a nice little scoop of each treat.

Once I've made a candy box, what can I use it for (aside from eating it)?

Lots of things, they're really versatile. I will shortly be setting up my home coffee/hot cocoa bar and incorporating the candy tray into that. If you have the room in your kitchen, you could dedicate a small drawer to entertainment and fill it with bags of microwaveable popcorn, popcorn seasonings, pretzels, marshmallows, an assortment of decorated sugar cookies and your candy tray etc and keep refilling both the drawer and your candy tray with a variety of goodies as it empties. This sort of set up is fantastic for date night, family movie night or even when you have guests over. Kids especially will love this, as kids love having popcorn and goodies when at the movies. The downside of course to popcorn and other goodies at the movies is the ridiculous price tag attached to it so creating your own family movie night at home with all the trimmings at a fraction of the price, has to be a winner.

I hope you have fun creating your own candy trays for Valentine's Day and as always I've linked the materials you will need above, all you need to do is click on the coloured links and you will be taken straight to the seller's site where you can either get more information on the product or even make a purchase if you wish.
