Hi everyone, my name is Laura (lauralou5586). For anyone who follows me on social media you'll know that I'm quite new to the social scene, the new kid on the block so to speak. I started making personal blogs and vlogs that I kept for private use a few years ago when I was going through a bit of a rough patch and needed a healthy but personal way of releasing my feelings. The only way I found that worked for me was to sit myself in front of my camera and talk to myself with the record button on or start typing like my life depended on it because, this girl can talk! As typing was part of my daily job anyway, it didn't take long for me to get the hang of getting my feelings down on the screen in front of me and thus began my blogging.

I have almost always had to shop online due to personal circumstances, so when the pandemic hit a few years ago, Amazon very quickly became my best friend. Then towards the end of the pandemic, I downloaded the TikTok app and between TikTok, Instagram and YouTube, I was amazed at how many people were advertising and linking the very things I had been buying from Amazon, so naturally my curiosity got the better of me and I did some digging. Thus began my investigation into what affiliate marketing is, and how it works etc.

Once I got myself educated about what that terminology meant I knew it was time to take my blogging to the next level. So I applied to the relevant programme, and I am now able to include the same sort of links in both my blog posts and on my website. In my blogs I will be covering a whole range of topics relating to lifestyle and home organisation, and how to empower your life through organisation and mental wellbeing. I will also from time-to-time, review some of the products I have bought and used from Amazon and anywhere else I will be affiliating with and give you my honest opinion as to whether they are worth purchasing.

Some of you are probably asking yourselves why you should trust my opinion, what could I possibly have to offer you?

I have a lot to offer you and I hope you won't be disappointed with what you find here. Over the years, my circumstances have meant that I've been very restricted as to where I purchase things from, and like with most people, my budget too. As with a lot of people, I've had some fantastic purchases and I wouldn't hesitate to buy them all over again, but I've also had some garbage and I get a real thorn in my side if I've spent my hard-earned money on something, only to find it is nothing but trash! I can assure you I'm not someone to promote trash just to make a pound. If you see something I have linked, you can be assured I'm promoting it because it's worth you spending YOUR hard earned money on. You can be assured I am not someone to mislead you.

And some of you are probably asking the same question I was, what is affiliate marketing?

Simply put, company A has either products or services that it wants to sell to the public, but for various reasons, company A doesn't always have an audience to sell to, and now that everything is online, the world has to change with it. Company A now has to go online and sell their products via a website or an app. So, to get the digital traffic to their website to make sales, company A partners with affiliates who use their social media accounts or their own websites, to promote company A's products and services. In return for a successful sale or sometimes for just making an advert to promote the items, the affiliate is compensated by company A with a small percentage of the sale by way of commission.

The affiliate doesn't sell the product or service, they simply act to facilitate the promotion of goods or services the company has to offer and provide the buyer with a link to access the company's website to make a purchase. It sounds long winded when I type it out, but this is basically how it works.

This is why, when you peruse my blog posts and the various pages on my website, you will see hyperlinks dotted around the place. Some of the hyperlinks are in the narrative, others are linked under the pictures of the products. To access them, all you have to do is click on them and you will be taken to the seller's website. It is entirely up to you whether you choose to purchase the item or not. Either way, I hope you enjoy seeing what I've linked on the site and reading my blog posts. I promise there is a LOT more to come!
